We all know the vision of KVS is – KVS believes in imparting knowledge/values and nurturing talent, enthusiasm and creativity of its students for seeking excellence through high quality educational endeavours.

Vision is the ability to see, think and plan for the future with imagination and wisdom

Imagination is important. This leads us to dream and think in ways that can be and wisdom is the other component because well know we cannot make castles in air. Our students come from various backgrounds, cultures, languages, faith and beliefs. We have a classroom that can be called a representation of our beloved motherland.

So my vision for KVS is to spread its wings and reach all the places in our country and take all the children under its wings. I hope to see that this kind of school system is provided to the people without any kind of barriers. Inclusion of all alike and the vision of KVS for all the young ones.

Now, let us talk about the people behind the achievement of this vision. Yes it us! The people who work day in and day out to make it into reality. What is our vision for the organization we work for and most importantly our vision for ourselves? A stream that is not fed by fresh water stagnates and the shark has to swim continuously (it has no swim bladder) to keep it self afloat, we too have to keep making continuous and tireless efforts to be the best we can be.

Why do we have to be the best? It is very easy to understand but difficult to put it in words. But let us try.

1.      We have the humbling opportunity and enormous responsibility to guide tomorrow.

2.      It is easier to show an example in real life, and who is better than us.

You can add more to the list as all of us have our own philosophies and to make the best we have to add the best.

Our vision for us should be a collective good thoughts and deeds that we add to the vision of the organisation. We, together make all the impossible possible and the power of collective should be realised for doing the best not only for our students but also for ourselves. We have to evolve. When I joined, black board and chalk were the norm but slowly it went from projectors to e-bords to now online classes. So change is inevitable and we have to evolve as well. So please find a vision for yourself that aligns with the vision of the institution and make everyday a special day. Everyday will bring new challenges , some days will be good and some not so good but every day lets change a little and become better version of ourselves and help us others too.

A Bengali cannot finish without quoting Rabindranath Thakur, his views on education are enlightening to say the least. Here are a few lines of “Where the mind is without fear” from Gitanjali. I am yet to find a situation where I cannot fit this poem. These lines are not in their sequence

Where knowledge is free;

Where words come out from the depth of truth;

Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;

Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;

Wishing you all a very happy foundation day.
